Having had a few calls to Ben (AVP), we deduced that the steering rack was foobar (basically the seals that keep the fluid in were and that you cannot get a kit to fix it - even though Audi have a part code for one!!!)
A new rack was about £600 ish, so I got one from A8Parts (£125) and thanks to being a member of the A8OC, managed get 15% off the cost. Couldn't get it to Ben's, as soon as I topped it up, within 4 miles it would be empty again ![]() Took it to a local VW & Audi independent (Volksworld in Leeds) who did the job for £250 (+VAT) - also needed new track rods as the ones on the car were cream crackered..... Pleased with the job and it drives better now (after the work that Ben also did) than when I bought it ![]()
