Stumped trying to replace calipers

I have replaced the calipers with a used set (not from A8 parts) and they are worse than the first set. I can move them by hand. I have sent half a dozen e-mails to http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/vjscomponents/ who advertise new calipers for £135, but I cannot get them to reply to an e-mail asking them to confirm they are new rather than re-manufactured. The only guys that I could find who remanufacture calipers were honest enough to let me know the set they were going to send me failed their pressure test and refunded my money. Fair play - but they can't get any more to try! Although I am UK registered I work and keep the car in Ireland. The cost of sending calipers out here negates any returns or deposits. I have replaced all the ball joints and both sides still rattle over small high frequency bumps. The rattle stops at even the slightest touch of the brakes and i can rattle the calipers by hand. What else could it be? Martin
