Have you tried unblocking it and clearing the codes?
You have to adapt the value of "1" to a value in adaptation channel 7 http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/02251 It may just be a one-off fluke. Also what about trying an injector cleaner additive in the fuel? Good luck, looks a pig of a job really.

Just food for thought for you guys but on my e39 I fitted a 12v gsm relay unit in the car and used that to operate the webasto heater, all pin 1 needs is a constant 12v supply to keep it active, the telestart is good as I previously fitted one to the e39 but the gsm unit allows you to turn the heater on from anywhere with phone signal, telestart can only work within a certain range and walls/buildings reduce this range, I used to just txt the car and it'd turn the webasto on
