Hi,

I think this may involve taking the whole door apart so that you can get the entire upper section seperated from the lower body panel. I have also considered it in the past but the job seemed so big it always comes lower down the list of things.

If you do do it, it would be great if you wrote a how-to

Oli

Had these replaced both on my current and prior car by audi. They said that techically it was not covered by the audi 'comprehensive' used approved warentee but they would do it as "good will". I should hope so too on what was a 4 year old car at the time....

I also had these done under warranty by Audi on my old D3. From memory, the car was about 7/8 years old at the time. The paint had bubbled around the outer edges of the "triangle". No harm in trying to get Audi to sort it, especially if you have a main dealer service history. It does appear to be a common issue on most D3's.

Lashing rain, stones, insects and just dirty air constantly wearing away at the coating on the leading edge and then corrosion takes a foothold....

May sound silly but is there not an uprated version available? Even after market? Seems a big job to do to have it happen again potentially in 4 years.

Default Rear door trims

Has anybody spoken to any of the wrap companies, could you clean them up and then wrap in piano black wrap. Just a thought?
Was think of that option for mine, which are just the same.

Best regards
Seamaster
