Its £500, for a strip and re-paint of the outer surface, leaving the inside alone and masking at the edges.

Having spoken to a number of people about lacquer issues, I've not found anyone who will repair lacquer peel as professionals don't want to risk an unnaceptable outcome. The biggest problem it seems is preparing the old base coat to take new lacquer. You can't sand it as you risk going through to the primer or at best significantly changing the appearance on metallics, and with no lacquer it is oxidising so won't take new lacquer properly. Everyone I've spoken to says it will leave a noticeable patch where the repair is, an edge where the new lacquer blends with the old, and stands a very high chance of failing again, and therefore they will only re-paint rather than try to repair.

Today was a total loss due to migraine so no progress on the car.
